Frequently asked questions
Do I need a 3D file to get something made?
- No. 3DOME Malta offers CAD design as a service — a sketch, a photograph, a reference image or the broken original part is enough to start. We develop it into a manufacturable 3D model. If you already have an STL or STEP file, we can print directly from it.
What is the minimum order quantity?
- One. 3DOME Malta produces single one-off pieces as readily as production runs — a single replacement fitting, a prototype, or a batch of several hundred. There is no minimum order.
How long does a 3D printing job take?
- Most jobs printed from a file you supply are ready in two to three working days. Parts that need CAD design first typically take five to seven working days from approval of the design. Larger production runs are scheduled per project. If you have a deadline, tell 3DOME Malta when you enquire and we will confirm feasibility before you commit.
How large a part can you print?
- Single pieces up to roughly 300 × 300 × 400 mm are printed in one go. Larger objects are printed in sections and bonded, so overall finished size is not limited to the build volume — 3DOME Malta regularly produces pieces well beyond it. Send your dimensions and we will confirm the approach.
