What can actually be made to measure?
Anything whose shape is dictated by what goes inside it. 3DOME Malta regularly produces compartment trays sized to specific vial or ampoule diameters, drawer inserts that stop small items migrating, wall-mounted holders for items that otherwise live on a worktop, transport cases for kit that travels between sites, and labelled racks where the label is part of the print rather than a sticker that peels. The common thread is that an off-the-shelf box was nearly right and the gap was costing someone time every day.
Why not just buy a standard organiser?
Often you should, and 3DOME Malta will say so. A standard tray that fits is cheaper and available tomorrow. Custom printing earns its place when the item is an awkward size, when the count matters and a fixed number of recesses prevents a miscount, when something needs to mount to a specific surface, or when a discontinued insert has left an expensive cabinet useless. If none of those apply, buy the standard one.
How do you clean and disinfect printed storage?
PETG tolerates the surface disinfectants used in most clinical settings and wipes down without absorbing liquid, which is the main reason 3DOME Malta uses it here rather than PLA. Two caveats worth knowing. Printed parts have layer lines, so they are harder to render smooth than injection-moulded plastic — we increase wall thickness and orient prints to reduce grooves in surfaces that get wiped. And nothing printed here is autoclave-safe: PETG softens well below sterilisation temperatures. If a part must be autoclaved, tell us before design starts, because it changes the answer entirely.
Can these be used for medical devices or patient-contact items?
No, and this is worth stating plainly. Products in this category are storage and organisation aids. They are not medical devices, they are not supplied for patient contact, and they carry no medical certification. Anything that would fall under EU medical device regulation needs a route 3DOME Malta does not currently offer. What do you need from us to start?
The items themselves, or their dimensions. The most reliable brief is a photograph of what needs storing beside a ruler, plus a note on how many of each and where the finished thing will live. From that 3DOME Malta produces a design, shows you a render, and prints one to check before making the rest — worth doing when a tray has thirty recesses and all thirty have to fit.
